Profile
Onibi
ONIBI is a New York–based lighting practice exploring illumination through the relationships between object, space, movement, and perception.
The studio creates luminous objects through a process of measured typological revision—reconsidering familiar forms through material, mechanics, and light. Rooted in restraint, and perceptual clarity, ONIBI's work brings together precise engineering and a quiet sense of movement, creating lighting that is both functional and animated.
Its debut design, Ramulus, embodies this approach—a kinetic light that responds to touch and movement, shifting between direct and indirect illumination, stillness and motion.
