Profile
Onibi
ONIBI is a New York–based lighting practice exploring illumination through the relationships between object, space, movement, and perception.
The studio creates luminous objects through a process of measured typological revision—reconsidering familiar forms through material, mechanics, and light. Rooted in restraint, longevity, and perceptual clarity, ONIBI's work brings together precise engineering and a quiet sense of movement, creating lighting that is both functional and animated.
Its debut design, Ramulus, embodies this approach: a kinetic light that responds to touch and movement, shifting between direct and indirect illumination, stillness and motion.
