The principle behind the design
Poul Henningsen developed his three-shade system in 1926 based on the curves of a logarithmic spiral, also found in seashells and plants. By shaping the shade according to this geometry, he created a design that distributes light in gentle layers, offering a functional yet completely glare-free light.
